I have recently heard the following expression: “Companies hire people because of their technical skills and fire them because of their soft skills”
In Mindera, we value so much soft skills that we dedicate same time knowing the person and citizen in front of us as finding out his technical expertise behind the computer.
When we talk about technical skills, we consider the knowledge acquired during professional training (languages domain, academic training, working methods,…). Technical skills are worked during our learning path (school, university, conferences, books, online training,…) and so many other sources of knowledge.
Soft Skills are related with the level of the balance and suitability each person interact with the ambient where he is inserted in. Some examples of soft skills are pro-activity, flexibility, creativity, organization, communication, focus, planning,…
Soft Skills are conquered with the self-knowledge, which provides the understanding and domain of our own abilities, capabilities, potentialities and improvement opportunities.
Selection processes have been evolved, giving more value to soft skills than in the past.
The truth is that its easier to help people develop their technical skills than change their old habits.
During the selection process of our adventurous Mindernauts (lovely way we call our students) we value mainly their Soft Skills (personal and social skills).
In addition, 10% of Mindera School program is dedicated to soft skills development with coaching and mentoring support to complement 90% of the program dedicated to technical skills.
